The snowday that never was

Totally bummed this morning when I looked out the window to find a THIN layer of show on the grass outside - F, U, C, K, I thought to myself and dragged myself up out of bed. I had been wishing for a day off, but obviously that did not happen since I'm now stuck at work... A few students have showed up so I'm just trying to keep busy, getting things organised and done. Why am I such a neat freak? Expecting a small crowd this afternoon, many people will use the weather as an excuse to get the day off.

28.11.10

I <3 Sweden

The fluffy snow, the quirky and slightly odd bus driver made the start of weekend away feel really special. -10 didn't feel as cold, somehow it never does.

Made it back to Lisa's for about half one, and was greeted by a buzzing sis - lovely! Spent a good hour chatting before passing out.

Woke up (wish I could say refreshed) on Saturday morning and had a lovely breakfast, chatting and catching up some more. Then off to a few bridal shops...getting fed up with the white dress search, surely this is not how I should be feeling? Just make your mind up indecisive Sanna!

Sat down and enjoyed a glass of bubbly (it's Saturday after all) with a divine salad.

Rushes home to find mum and dad waiting outside with "glögg" gingerbread cookies and saffron buns - man I really felt the Xmas buzz inside!

Off to an Argentinean restaurant, had a steak and drank Sol, lovely! Back to Lisa's flat, another late night, more good talks and laughs - YouTube is fantastic!

Another long breakfast that was prolonged to a "fika", Michaela joined in (managed to get sorted somewhere in between)...

Good catch up then rushed over to the catch the bus to the airport. Had a little sisterly cry before saying goodbye to each other, think we made the driver slightly uncomfortable, who gives a shit though?

Got to Skavsta and made a snowball, that kinda just crumble in my hands anyway, before buying some late lunch.

Flight 15 min late, could have been worse, and off I was.

The 2/3 of my family made me feel complete again when I was picked up. Arnie nearly wet himself he was so happy to see me, bless.

Now I'm going to cuddle kiss and enjoy being back with the man I love - Amen!

What did you do this weekend?

26.11.10

First in line

I'm getting ready to board to Sweden so I thought I'd blog to keep busy. It just so happened that I'm first in line to board, even though I took my time, sniffed several perfumes, had some dinner and bought a couple of mags - topped off with a gingerbread latte! God I'm good at travelling ;)

Love sick!

Can't believe what's happened to me!!! I'm usually such a hard-nut but when I said goodbye to my lil family at the airport it ached inside my chest...maybe it's the time of the month!

Fingers crossed for X-mas

In love with Mui Mui clutches at the moment!

Brrrrrrr!!!!!

The cold weather couldn't knock my excitment though, I'm ready for some Swedish fun! Turned out there was a water problem in our area this morning (hence the slow running water...) but I pray that it's sorted by the time I need to shower. I got PT before heading out to the airport and don't wanna smell on the plane - not a pretty look!

Cheers (Drink To That)

Cheers to the fricken' weekend
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Oh let the jameson sink in
I drink to that, yeah yeah
Don't let the bastards get ya down
Turn it around with another round
There's a party at the bar everybody putcha glasses up and I drink to that
I drink to thaaaaaaaat.

- Rihanna (you gotta love her!)

Developing country?

-3 and the water is running slow through the taps, what kind of developing country do we live in? My gosh! Made myself a yummy breakie including berries and a double shot Sanesso.

I'm all packed for Sweden and super organised as I have even laid out clothes for what I'm wearing this afternoon. SAD!

What really is sad is that it's our last PT session with Manny today and then we are on our own *cue scary music*... We're going to face the freezing temps and go for a knockout hour - Bring it!

25.11.10

The week's shout out:

Lisa: Can't wait to see ya tomorrow, make sure you're home so I don't have to sleep on the street! ;)

Melanie: I'm crap I know, talk Monday? Miss you x

Laura: My thoughts are with you... x

Rach: Coffee next week? Need to chat! x

Arnie-me-bob: mummy's gonna miss u this weekend...

Frazer: I'm gonna miss you more, love you to pieces x x x

Really? Is it really?

Is it already nearly Friday? I belieeeeeve sooo!!! Whoop whoop!

This week has been a bit mad abs my evenings have been too busy so I know the blog's been a bit quiet. Soon time for some shout outs but we'll do that in another post.

Excited about tomorrow when I'm going to get to see Lisa! Spending the weekend in Stockholm in the cold and the snow...but believe or not I'm really happy about it all. The UGGs are packed, big Boomerang jacket on, gloves and hats - bring it on -10C!!!

Now time for squeezing in as much love so it lasts for the whole weekend... Frazer hurry up and come to bed!!

23.11.10

Flippen-heck!

What a day I've had, feel shattered. Thinking about calling it a night already and it's not even half nine!

Had a semi-shit day at work...sometimes I don't understand why I let certain people annoy me! Felt seriously p-d off when I left work, but having Rosie around after work make things much better. Hadn't had a chance to talk to her in a long time so it felt good to touch base. Just as she was leaving it also turned out that her brother's fiancee gave birth to their first baby girl, so now Rosie's an aunti! Whoop whoop!

Happy 6 months!

Arnie is 6 months today so he got an extra treat in the morning to celebrate. He's growing each week and is lovelier and lovelier for each day that goes by. I couldn't be a more proud owner! <3

21.11.10

Nonstop

I'm not dead I promise. I've been really busy but, I'll get back to my normal blog-routine asap - I promise! X x x

16.11.10

Learning2Learn

So instead of having a quite day at work, I've involved myself with a project day for year 7. This means I'm teaching needy 11 year-olds non-stop all day - please give me strength. They are designing a horror DVD cover for a fictional film, so it should be interesting to see what they come up with...

Other than that I feel quite tried today actually, so I've made myself a double sanesso to wake me up. It was probably the PT session yesterday that tired me out, Manny is pushing us to the max since we're nearer the end. A part of me will be really sad when the sessions stop, cause we have so much fun, but I'm also looking forward to the challenge of getting of my bum and doing the workouts by myself.

From one thing to another I just have to say how great it is to have so many people stop by this blog every day. I've only been running this version of LSB for 2 months and so I'm surprised and happy over the response! Please leave more comments, cause they do mean a lot and I want to know what you think of things - with that said I wanna give a shout out to Mel who always make an effort - I <3 St Ed Fall '06!

15.11.10

Cosy outfit!

Feel so American college-y tonight in my outfit - haha! Brings me back to the Austin days, sweet times!

Went to dog-class again tonight and I was the handler. It went okay and it's good fun to learn new things. We've still got a lot to learn but we're moving forward and it feels good afterwards, even though it is exhausting.

Aftermath

How do you possibly recover from a lovely weekend, a weekend that makes the Monday seem that much more of Monday. It's 0 degrees outside and I'm struggling to get out from underneath my warm duvet cover...

Last night my new obsession started, I'm a Celebrity... and I can't wait to be entertained for 3 weeks! Haha! Arnie did not seem as interested though, however Frazer thought he made a good footwarmer!

Now I really should try to get out of bed, but I'll give it 4 more min...

14.11.10

Rebecca to win!

Love this chick! Fab, fantabulous, fantastic!

F1 = £5

I'm watching the F1 with Frazer two hours behind. I'm pretending that I have no idea who's won, even though I know Vettle took the 1st spot and also won the championship! I've had a bet of £5 with Frazer for the past 4 weeks that Vettle would win the whole thing and soon he'll have to pay up (and he's not suspecting a thing at the moment, heehee)!!!

Before I get my big win I'm going to have a snooze or a cuppa and enjoy this Sunday.

Christening

Just came back from Louisa's christening and it went great! No tears when the water was poured on the head, she seemed content throughout.

Afterwards we got a beautiful cake (below) and some amazing cupcakes, nearly beating Jaqui's small wonders (her's are still the best though).

Last night

After the mysterious road trip yesterday, we chilled for the rest of the afternoon and then got ready for Jack and Hayley. Had sucha lovely evening (like always) with them. They are brilliant people, and probably the coolest pair I know! They're always a laugh and the countdown has therefore already started to Thu when we're going to theirs, whoop whoop!

Hayley, like the fashionista that she is, gave Arnie a makeover and styled him for the colder weather...

...bless!

Wedding pics!

Here are some long overdue pics from this weekend. Some of them came out really well. Enjoy!

On a secret mission. In the car, with Arnie can't say more than that...

THE dress

Good news, think I've found THE dress. Not giving out any more information than that. Really excited though.

Looking forward to a slow day today, my head can't take any mess or drama. Off to dinner tonight, after a gruelling PT session, with Danny & Carrie. Tomorrow I'm aiming to buy THE dress and then spend the afternoon walking Arnie in the park and prepping for a boozy evening with Jack, Hayley, Arnimebob, Husband to be and X-factor (which we all know really is crap-factor) and the week's first TAKEAWAY!

Bring it!

He can, but chooses not to

So last night something special happened. Arnie barked - twice! Since the wind was blowing outside we think he thought he heard something outside that scared him. After the showdown he came into our bedroom like a right Nancy, bless!

After a few minutes he mucked up the courage to go and lay down in his den! A guard dog, ish don't think so!

11.11.10

High heels

Fact: High heels are not a good option to wear for a 13h day.

When I stumbled through the front door yesterday I was so tired and I'm still tired.

Will blog more in a bit when I've woken up.

(me, tired yesterday)

10.11.10

X-Mas Flight is booked!

In some ways it will feel really tough to spend X-Mas apart from my primary family unit (Frazer and Arnie) but on the other hand I'm also really excited to spend this Christmas in Sweden with my sis, parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties and cousins! Bring on SNOW, HOT CHOCOLATE AND "KNACK"!

Long day

I've got a meeeeega long day ahead of me, due to a prospective parents evening which will last until 9 pm (!!!). It is days like these, when I know I'm spoiled with my normal 6,5h day - the term workoholic really does not apply (which I'm quite proud of actually)

My week is really filling up quickly, and the weekend is looking like it's going to be a great one! I'm going to attempt to get through a kettlebells session by myself tomorrow so I can handle the PT session on Friday...

I really have not been feeling motivated to workout over the past few weeks, which slightly has irritated me. I wanna be one of those people that find a way every day to work out. Not doing like a hardcord workout everyday, but feeling like you're out and about moving. I am thinking about maybe doing the following: On one of my off days (Tue-Thu) when I'm home at 15:20ish after I take Arnie for a walk feed him, I will go out for a 30 min jog + some kettlebells and then try to jog & do kettlebells once at the weekend. On top of that I obviously do the two PT sessions....jesus just writing this plan makes me feel tired...Let's see how long it'll last.

In many ways I can't wait for Arnie to be about 1 year so I can start taking him out for longer walks. Wanna aim to 45min-60min each afternoon with him, to get myself fit for the wedding, let's see how it works...

Now I really should work. Ciao!

9.11.10

How many cups should it take?

I'm still struggling to wake up this morning even though I'm having the biggest coffee ever! What's wrong with me?

Last night at dog-class was fun, it's always good fun to learn new ways to communicate with your four-legged family member. Frazer did the class this week and I'm doing the training next week, looking forward to it!

I'm really starting to get excited about the build up to xmas. There are so many things happening before the season begins that I know will just make the whole holiday lovely!

Top few of my fav upcoming events are:

- Going to Stockholm to see Lisa at the end of Nov.
- Catching up with the Connors over din-dins on Fri!
- Discover Dogs Expo and ring designing in Chiswick on Sat/Sun
- Louisa's christening this weekend
- Our secret trip with J & H
- SJ & PJ coming home!

Life is good, although it feels like I could fall asleep at the moment!

8.11.10

Evening fun!

No Manny Mima this pm, we were both too exhausted to even move an arm! We're doing our own workout session tomorrow though, trying to adapt to life without a PT...

In a sec we are off to a new dog class with Arnie. I'm really excited to learn something new and see if this is a class for our slower big man.

Then I can't wait to get the fire going and enjoying a cuppa!

Useless weekend pictures

My wedding outfit...

Frazer tries to catch some F1 before we head back to E-town...

My comb over...

A massive Dala-horse!

I <3 doing duty in the LRC

Just came back from my break duty in the LRC and the lovely Sharon literally SAVED my morning by greeting me with a cup of Nespresso coffee! It turns out Sharon had had her machine (same model as mine) in the car and decided to make me a "Sharonesso" topped with some froffe milk, which was ABSOLUTELY lovely!

THANKS MISS SHARON! X

Insomnia

When I do not get my lovely 8 hours of sleep I feel sooo tired and last night I kept waking up constantly so now I'm here at work, feeling like a zombie...The weather really shifted over the weekend and we woke up to icy cold rain and strong winds - bbbrrr! I truly felt for Frazer who is on morning Arnie duty... On my favourite topic of Arnie, he was over the moon last night when we walked through the door. It felt lovely to come home to him and it also felt good to know that he's had a great time with the Duffys :)

Now I need to do duty in the Library for break - blog more later! Happy Monday people!

Sweden update

It's been lovely being back in Sweden and seeing everyone again. We arrived really late on Friday night and went straight to bed to ensure we all looked refreshed for the wedding in Falun. We both we're a bit disappointed of the lack of snow, however the sub zero levels really did remind me of how much I do NOT miss the Swedish winters - mega BRRR!

After checking in to the hotel, everyone rushed to get ready and we then headed off to what we thought was the right church, thought being the key word in the sentence. Realising we were in the wrong place our family quickly acted out a scene from "4 wedding and a funeral" whilst getting to the right church... Sucha a Karlborg thing!

Anyhow, it was lovely little service and they both look very much in love.

A few of the highlights was Johan's (brother of the bride) speech as well as my auntie's (mother of the bride) - felt so proud of them!

Anyway, I'll try and update you all with some pictures tomorrow, cause now I'm off to bedski! Hope you all had as great of a weekend as me! Ciao!

5.11.10

Off we go!

About to board! Prepare yourself for Swedish updates all weekend! Feels fantastic to get to see la familla soon!

15 min left...

... and my bad mood is gone, so let's bring on a fantastic weekend! Hope Jessica & Erik get the day they've waited for! Cheers!

Brrrr!

Need to wrap up warm if we're going to take this cold - just checked the weather report for where we're going in Sweden. We've really been so spoiled in the London area with 15 degrees everyday for weeks. Falun, Sweden won't be as cozy, but hopefully we'll live through it!

Arrggggggg!

In sucha bad mood, don't know what's up with me! I need to snap out of it!!!

Have PT straight after work which will guaranteed get rid off some of these awful mood swings! Then I need to finish packing (rushed around this morning trying to get it all together - hence the lack of my morning update) before we're off!

Valet parking (a luxury) means we can quickly get into the departure lounge at Gatwick tonight, have a coffee and get some time to finally start enjoying the mini weekend away.

Arnie is staying with the in-laws and I think he'll love the extra attention.

Blog later! Friday peeps - let's celebrate!

3.11.10

Come on Skavsta you can do it!

We will expect nothing less than this meet and greet on Friday night!

New fave!

Like KOL and I liked what I saw on LLoJH

Sorry

Sorry that the blog's been so quite today. Since Frazer had to shoot off early to work this morning I had to take Arnie out for a walk, rather than laying in bed, blogging for an extra 20min. It's not often that I get to take Arnie out in the morning (except for when I'm off obviously) and it's so lovely! Some might think that taking a dog out for a walk before going to work might be stressful, but it actually woke me up and felt refreshing. It gives me some time to reflect and just breathe. Should keep going on about it, because Frazer might get some ideas in his head!

Arnie is getting really big now, weighing in at 47kg (8 stone) already and he's only 5 months! We're both wondering how heavy he'll finally be...time will tell!

Anyway now I'm soon off home again and after having taught inside all day I can't wait to get some fresh air!

Blog more later peeps! It's nearly time for the weekend - Whoop whoop!

2.11.10

So hungry

Off to have some lunch in a sec, I literally could die from hunger at the moment. My day has been really lovely so far, the students seem happy to be back which is slightly odd, but refreshing!

Have got a meeting after school today, so I won't before 16:30 at the earliest (sighs!), not happy about it but life could be worse. Really want to make it to Arnie's vet check, so I'm going to try to make as few comments in the meeting as possible and give evil stares at anyone who attempts to rant about their banal issues!

Away off I am, before I die! Ciao!

My damn alarm

Is bugged and doesn't ring when I want it to, sort it Apple!

Luckily I've got Arnie who wakes up most mornings before my set time anyway, so I'm never going to late to work :(

Yesterday it felt good to be back at work, I mean I'll take half-term and summer holidays above working any day, but it feels nice to get back into some sort of routine - I need them. Without routines I accomplish very little and with them I'm mega productive, I'm strange.

So what's happening today, well besides teaching and having a meeting til after 5... Frazer is going to take Arnie to get his junior health check - our lil man is a JUNIOR! Where discussing not whether, but when he's going to (Arnie cover your ears) have his balls snipped. It's good to do it early so Mr Mastiff doesn't decided to pull me across the road just so he can sniff a bitch!

Anyway I should start getting ready for work - enjoy your Tuesday!

1.11.10

I feel good

Morning peeps, what a fantastic morning it is!

I've got an Inset day today which feels lovely, that means I can get some things done (stuff I really should have done during my week off) and ease into the first week back.

This week will go quick, I can feel it. I'm going to make the most of it though and try to get lots done!

We're going to Sweden on Friday night to attend a wedding which will be lovely, really looking forward to it!

Try to blog more later! X x x

Cuddles

This is how lovely it is to be the owner of a cuddly mastiff!
