Half term Pt 3

Relaxing at home, long walks with Arnie (we were both exhausted after this morning's one) and sitting outside in the sunshine with a Sanesso now that's my ideal half term activity!

Half-term Pt 2

On the Sunday evening Frazer and I took off to Sweden for an intense 48h. We managed to squeeze in sooo much in that little time such as:

- Wedding Venue (all details taken down and table plan checked)
- Wedding cake (tasting and booking made - man it's yummy!)
- Wedding food (everything from the many different canapés to the starter, to the main and the extra small food surprises will be delicious!!! I'm over the moon!)
- Meeting with the priest (felt really good and made it all seem really real, had butterflies in my tummy)
- Evening coffees at the Khouri's
- A luxurious lunch (incl wine, coffees and a "Semla") at NK with Lisa.
- Picked up new passport (looked less like a criminal in this one)

Try to beat that.

Half term Pt1

I've really been enjoying my half-term so far. Frazer and I started it off by going to Birmingham to attend the Mastiff association show and to see Arnie's brothers and sisters, who were all entered for competitions. Of course Arnie's lookalike brother took home some prices, so we've now decided that we'll enter Arnie in April's show.

Here are some pics:

Arnie's to the left, in case you have issues telling them apart :)

Deflated

Man, I feel so tired. It's as if I've been awake all night and then had to run a marathon on top of that. Relativly easy day at work, but at the moment it feels extremely long- and I've got a cover lesson final period *sighs*

Went around the Barreca's last night for a catch up and it was lovely to see how big Rach's bump is becoming. Not long on until their first born is here - exciting! Hopefully Rach will have given birth before I go to New York, so I can the the little bubba!

Need to work now, even though I have no energy. Blog later - ciao!.

My Valentine's

A Chinese takeaway, rose wine and daim-cake, now that's how you win a girl's heart! At least this girl's.

Finally feel awake!

Well, nearly.

I know I've been shit when it comes to blogging, but I've been too tired to do anything over the past week or so.

Work's dragging on and I feel really ready for a week off.

During my down time I've been admiring our dog. Ever since the big chop he's been much calmer and he now really personifies a true mastiff by being "annoyingly affectionate".

Comfortable enough?

Nearly taller than daddy!

His two best thing: blanky and the black chew Kong.

Thought of the Week - Friendships

"It's the friends you can call up at 4am that matter."
- Marlene Dietrick

When I moved to London four years ago, I knew that one of my biggest challenges was going to be to make friends. Not filler-friends, you know the types you see every once in a while and all you guys talk about are things like work, holidays and random stuff that actually is quite boring. I needed to find real-friends, the kind of friend you truly actually could ring up at 4am and who wouldn't hang up on you.

Over the four years I have managed to find a few real gems, people who get me and who makes me laugh. Some are old friends living far away from me, who I don't see as often as I'd like and others are relatively new ones, some of them living close by and who are easier to meet on a weekly basis.

I've always been open to meeting new people and making new friends, but not all people are. Some decide to stick with the same bunch of friends they've had since primary school - believing that they are "the chosen ones", but that has never been my thing.

Making new friends, to me, is a way of developing yourself and learning about trust in different forms and learning to appreciate differences in people's personalities. I know some people who want to be friends with EVERYONE, but end up being friends with hardly anyone, since they are too busy pleasing too many.

Friendship is hard work and takes time, but taking the time and making the effort is always worth it. So that's what I intend to always do, make the effort and take the time.

Wicked end to weekend!

I've had the laziest weekend in a long time and it's been fantastic!!!

Yesterday, Frazer and I slept in (minus Arnie's wee&poo break @ 6am) to 8am - yeay! Went to the shops and got lovely croissants and then had a big breakie ;)

After that we took Arnie house hunting, looking at areas were we would like to live - taking our time searching for the right spot...

The evening we spent at home, some good telly and lots of lit candles and a few shandies - yum yum!

Today we did a clean and skyped
with the Jays in HK and then it was time for Afternoon tea in Kensington.

After quite a drive, mad traffic due to the chelsea game, we arrived to Kensington hotel. A lovely little corner table was reserved for us and four tea pots and 3 courses later, we were filled up to the max. It was lovely to get dressed up and go on a daytime date. Chatted a lot about everything as we always do, we can talk forever... <3

A Friday night in

Just have enjoyed a lovely curry takeaway (the only one this week) to try to clear up my cold. Arnie is snoozing on the spare bed (a weekend treat) and now we're watching some rugby ;)

I've lit lots of candles all over - it smells lovely! My thought on candles is that you NEVER should be cheap when it comes to lighting candles. I buy lots of scented tea light candles at IKEA and then I go nuts. Also I'm very happy that a few of the roses I got for my birthday two weeks ago are still standing!

All of a sudden it happens...

During the last hours of work my nose started running even more and my sneezes were not far in between - a raging cold was a fact! My head feels okay but I'm completely blocked and sneezing non stop, perfect for the weekend - NOT!!!

Tug power

Arnie showed us his true powers yesterday when he pulled Frazer across the floor! It looked so funny, I'm going to try to get a video of it this weekend.

Now that went quick

Can't believe we've hit fantastic Friday today. I've got some free lessons today so I'm going to try to do some shopping off EBay and h&m.

Went nuts on the treadmill yesterday, jogging for 45min combined with 100 kettle bell swings and squats - hoooooo ha!

I'm happy that I decided to buy the treadmill, since it limits the amount of excuses I can come up with for not going running. It's also really nice running in your own house, listening to music with dimmed light and not have to be in a AC maxed out fully lit gym with Mr. and Mrs I'm-so-flippen-fit-and-I-love-myself working out around you. My only company yesterday was Arnie who snoozed on the bed next to me, some lit candles and a light breeze from the window - BLISS!

It is Jessie J's year

I liked Jessie J from when I saw this preformance on Jools Holland back in November. Her style is not newish, but I like it anyway! Have a listen!

This song reflects my mood at the moment!

TURN IT UP!

SPA-ARNIE?

Just had a call from Frazer, who told me that Arnie had locked himself in the bathroom, when he came home to take him out for lunch. Besides chewing on a toilet roll (luckily the toilet lid was closed) he was very happy to see Frazer and in good spirits. BLESS HIM! Who knows he might have decided to have a spa-morning, but was probably interrupted before he completed his mani-pedi. Silly dog!

Why don't you do something?

Can't believe I much I've got done today. Putting things in the diary, booking drink dates, wedding stuff, dinners, cuppas around people's all left, right and centre - I'm on fire!!!!

2.2.11

When it it Sunday?

Frazer and I are off to the Kensington Hotel for some Afternoon Tea on Sunday and I can't wait to indulge in some lovely finger sandwiches, cupcakes and pastries and a posh cuppa - Bring on SUNDAY!

Can't wait for this one!

WANT-TO-SEE-IT-NOOOOOOOOW!

Want to be tanned!!!

Eventhough I feel that I've done my best to embrace my transparent skin during the winter months, there is still a MASSIVE part of me that desperately wants to have a tan all year around, how sad is that? Found these pics of myself and that part just screamed: SUNBEEEEEEEED!

Top 3 TV!

At the moment my TV life is all about these three shows:
My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on Channel 4
One born every minute on Channel 4
The R Z project on Really

What does that tell you about me? I'm intrigued - let me know...

Good morning!

It's the small things in life that you MUST be able to appreciate, otherwise you're missing out. My Sanesso and berry cup did that this morning. I worked out yesterday on the treadmill and using kettle bells and today I'm doing the same thing! Fit for fight I tell you, fit for fight!

I know today is going to be a great day, I can feel it!
