Friday night in

We're having pizzas to celebrate the start of my holiday, and then we might watch a scary movie - a proper date night in!

Happy Birthday Pappa!

I've got the kindest, sweetest and coolest dad in the whole world- hope you have a lovely day! xoxo

Happy Easter holiday!

Got some Easter chocolate at work - much appriciated!

Soon there

3 normal lessons to go before the Easter holidays begin - I'm counting down the hours!!! Frazer and I are going swimming at the gym tonight, which I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully it will be lovely and quiet. Can't wait to hit the steam room afterwards, since I need a good cleanse!

Doggie daycare

The fruit did the trick - I'm buzzing! Thought I'd show off our dog again, and how well behaved he is. He's got the nice collar on today, because he's off to doggie daycare. Happy Thursday everyone! Xxx

Fruity

1.5 day left until my Easter holidays begin - so lovely! I feel mega tired after yesterday, although I spent the day at home. In an attempt to perk up I'm going nuts on fruit - bring on fructose energy!

Spring heat wave

Just thought I'd let you know that I'm enjoying a cinnamon Sanesso on the sun lounger together, with one remaining cookie from last night. I'm doing 7k at the gym this evening so I need to top up on the sun-energy!

Tired Monkey!

I'm beat. Never ran 7k at the gym, only a mere 3.5... I just didn't have it in me. However it didn't stop me from hitting the weights. At our gym the weight section can be quite daunting for the average female, since there is a lot of testosterone to deal with. You have to be quite forceful and own your space, otherwise you're guaranteed to be overtaken by one of the grease monkeys who seem to live in there. Working in a boys' school I really just go into my teacher role when I step into that area and it works! I did 40 min of different weight and boy did it make my tired! Frazer and I are treating ourselves to another Wagamama tonight and I'm going to have a shandy with it - to end of a perfect warm spring day!

45 min

First a tasty breakfast in bed then a walk in the park with Arnie in the sunshine - what a lovely start to my morning!

Striking

So I decided to strike in the end, which means that I'm off today. Feels lovely that it's sunny and that this day is predicted to be the warmest so far. Off to the park with this guy, if I can get him to wake up :)

Fav candle

Whilst I'm waiting for my lovely husband to come to the rescue. I thought I'd share my favourite candle at the moment. It's Jo Malone aka "expensive-but-lovely-smelling-candles-worth-the-money".

Breathe

I'm taking my own advice from yesterday. Late for work and I've got a flat tire - the day can only get better from now on! :)

Reflecting

Soaking up the rays outside in the garden after work, I thought of the last couple of months and what I've gone through. Amongst all of the lovely times, there have been some trials and conflicts that I really feel like I've learnt and grown from. Here are some of those reflections.

"Crap days"
Lets face it, we all have them from time to time, but most likely the crap days are all about your own feelings. I've found that if I wake up in the morning feeling crap I sometimes try to blame everyone else for the shitty day I'm having. This is a complete waste of time, because it's always your own fault. If I feel a crap day coming on I own up to it and get real. I ask myself what it is I'm really annoyed with. Most likely it will be something completely and utterly minuscule that really, in the grand scheme of things, is nothing to stress or feel crap about. Then I try to think about how lucky and fortunate I am without adding a "BUT" to that sentence.

"Difficult people"
We're not meant to get on with everyone in life, but there's no reason to try. I have learnt that I need to forgive people more than what I already do. I tend to be quite stubborn at times, but I really am working on forgiving people who have upset me. I can't change other people. I can only change myself, so if I choose to forgive the "difficult people" I come across, it makes me feel better.

"Speaking up"
One of my specialties. I love to talk, however sometimes I feel like I freeze up. I want to be completely blunt and honest ALL of the time. Life is too short for trying to please, but life is also too short for silly disagreements and "I'm just making a point" discussions.

"Compliments & thank yous"
You really can't give too many compliments and say too many thank yous. I really have focused on trying to give out a number of compliments each day. People just light up when they hear them and does make me feel better.

Quickie

Where did that weekend disappear??? Can't believe it's Monday morning already. Had a lovely, but short weekend which started off on Friday night at Jacko & Hayles. They had made fantastic ribs and then we were joined by their two lovely pets as we watched the finale of The Walking Dead (Gaaaahhh!!!!! Can't wait for season 3!!!).
The coolest cat - Billy aka Bills
Pepper - A sweet ball of fluff!
Frazer worked Saturday morning, so Arnie and I took a mega long walk as usual. It's so lovely and fresh outside at 9am and the sun was beaming so I came back in a really happy mood :)

When Frazer was back home again, we had a quick brunch and then we walked down to the high street, bought some little bits and pieces and came back to chill in the house.

Sunday was really quiet, but I did attend lovely little miss Madeleine's christening and went to Wagamama's with J&H (we're proper food buddies!) in the evening. Inbetween I soaked up some rays and got a few more freckles!

Loving the Spring Sunshine!

Fingers crossed

£25

I've made a £25 bet with Frazer that Sweden place higher than the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. Just thought I'd post it on here to make it official :)

House ideas

Last year I spent a lot of time looking a wedding websites and blogs and now I found myself swamped in interior design blogs and websites. Love collecting ideas of things I find beautiful!

Happy Friday!

Lazy day today I should hope. Academic mentoring day at work which is normally quite relaxed.

22.3.12

Result!

My first lesson this morning was cancelled, which means I've got TWO lessons in a row off - whoop whoop! Gives me some time to house hunt on the internet... Exciting times!

On my hand

Over the past two days I've received so many compliments over my nails, I made a good colour choice me thinks! They go perfect with my personality and my childhood bracelet!

20.3.12

Done!!

Orange is the new red!!!

New colour

Got the dates wrong and it turns out I'm off to Gemma's tonight to get my gel nails done. This time I might go for a ligther shade, or maybe an orange...

TO strike of NOT TO strike

Twice I've taken part in the NUT Teacher's Pension strike, but have decided not to participate in the one next week. I care about my pension and I would strike - if I could AFFORD to...

A new day

5k yesterday and half of Homeland, but heyho life's good! Arnie and I enjoyed the sun before heading out. Had the garden done at the weekend, so it's shining. All of the roses are cut down and the flowerbeds look so neat! Now I'm off with Arnie to drop him at doggie daycare! Happy Tuesday everyone!

19.3.12

A typical Monday

It's been one of those days today...

The next few days...

I luckily have quite a slow week this week, which I have to say I can't complain about. Here is my plan for the next few days:

MONDAY:
Long walk with Arnie after work, then off to do some food shopping, have some dinner and then off to run 6k at the gym + Watching Homeland as a treat!

TUESDAY:
After school club, then taking a long walk with Arnie (standard!). Going to attempt to clearing out my make up cabinet and kitchen cupboards- bin-time again! Also might hit the gym again in the evening for some weights, weights, weights!

WEDNESDAY:
Suprise, surprise - long walk with Arnie after work. Deal with some estate agent shit, then dinner and a stop at Gemma's to get my nails done (new colour is in order).

BUT you guys know me, if something else, something completely spontaneous comes along, my so called "plan" above is the first thing to be thrown out the window - refuse to plan my life so that I have to live vicariously through dates in a calender!

18.3.12

Sunny Sunday!

Have had a lovely and lazy Sunday. Celebrated mother's day with breakfast in Wimbledon village, then we took a trip to the tip with all our rubbish - felt very cleansing! We took a walk in the park and have now we have watched a movie - success!

17.3.12

While you were sleeping

I bet most of you were still tucked up in bed, when I walked Arnie at 8:30 this morning. Our neighborhood was so quiet, only a few oldies around, maybe off to buy the paper. We took a longer walk, since I knew it'd be pouring down later on (which rightly so, was the case) and the dog was knackered afterwards. I however got in the car and took off for the gym. 6k and a mini-weight session later I was home. Frazer then suggested that we should clean out our wardrobes incl. the shoe section, which turned out to be a bigger mission than I first thought - but it now feels lovely that it's done!
Three bags going in recycling and another 4 went in the bin!!!
Our beauty - check out the slobber!

16.3.12

Oh what a wonderful feeling!

...oh what a beautiful day! My Friday has been so lovely. Work was a breeze, came back home to sit down and listen to some good music drinking a Sanesso. Frazer and I then did a 5k walk with Arnie and are now going have dinner. Walking Dead is soon on TV, and we're having an apple crumble with custard as a treat! Life is not only good my friends - it's great!
