Hot pink

New shade on my little nails - love them! Hot pink = spring!

Babies and dogs

Our dog is brilliant with children, the smaller children the better. He really respects and likes Sabrina and is super calm with her. Even when she cries he can calmly snore away on his cushion. I often wish that people who are scared of bigger dogs (trust me I've met a lot of petrified people) would just trust the owner of the dog a bit more than they do. I often meet mums (and yes it mostly is mums) with small children who nearly pick their kids up when they see Arnie, almost as if they are thinking that my dog is going to run over and eat their children. I sometimes meet those reactions with "there's no need for you to be scared, he is really friendly" and I round it off with "he's already had a baby for breakfast". Some get the joke, whereas others give me a fake smile and continue to live in fear (as well as to transfer it to their little ones). What most of them never realise is that it is their own fear and nervousness that often can cause certain insecure dogs to become weary and extra vigilant. My advice to anyone unsure/afraid of dogs is 1) don't touch the dog 2) don't talk to it and 3) don't give any eye contact.

Chocolate genes

Hilarious to watch her tackle the chocolate bar. After a few minutes Frazer started looking a bit worried that it was actually going to disappear and therefore managed to get it back ;)

Back

It's been an emotional week because of something that happened on Monday (I'm not sharing any details) and it isn't until now that it's Sunday that thing have started brightening up. We've had a relaxing weekend, filled with lots of time with our niece Sabrina, Arnie of course and the rest of the D family. Stay tuned for some upcoming pics!

Just as everything was going great, something happened yesterday which changed everything. It is in times like these that your character grows stronger. Bare with me folks, I might be quiet for a day or two.

Park fun!

Arnie was knackered after yesterday's two long walks in the park. For the first one we were joined by Frazer's cousin and her two boys and their pup, Bonny.

Date with my niece

My heart just fills to the max when I get to cuddle this little girl!

Back to reality

Sorry for the blog silence. I've been on a mini holiday and before that we finally bought a house, so my head has been slightly cloudy. Here are some pics from our lovely getaway in North Devon. We stayed at a b&b, went to the beach, had lovely cream teas, oh and fish&chips! We also took plenty of long walks with the dog in the sun - bliss!

Sun=fun!

No rain yet and hopefully it'll stay that way all day. I'm having a lazy one today and intend to only do some necessary job chores and then I'm starting a new book! Took these pics at the park this morning love the one of Arnie amongst the daffodils (although his paws are cropped off).

Treasure

I'm really soaking up the fact that I'm on holiday. A lot of people would dream to have two weeks off! I'm not known for laying in bed for that long, I've got too much energy, but I've forced myself to not get up before 8. Well, it's just gone 8 now and I've had my breakfast (in bed) and read all my regular blogs, played Drawsomething (my new obsession) and although Arnie seems content to snooze for another 20 I think it's time to get up. The rain clouds are approaching and I want to get a long tiring walk in before it starts pouring down!

Never published: Happy Easter!

For some reason this post never published, but I hope you have had a relaxing few days off!

Want to get in shape?

Get a dog! I've done so much walking with Arnie this past week, that I'm beginning to question why I belong to a gym? Did 5k this morning in the sunshine and have come back home feeling really refreshed. Since I still do belong to a gym, I'm soon off to do a weight session and some cross training. After that I'm stopping off at the jewellers to hand over my rings. I'm getting them replated so that they'll sparkle even more! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Family

My mum and dad are visiting my sis in NYC over Easter. They just sent me this picture today and it made me all warm inside. Together with my husband they're the loveliest people I know!

Tired bunny

I'm about to have a nap. A really long nap. My nails are done, gym went great, made and ate some lasagne, then took a 5k walk with Arnie (total 7k today) and now I'm on the sofa. Night night for 30min!

07:41

Believe it or not, but I've already had my breakfast and I'm now getting ready to take Arnie out for his 30min walk. After that's done it's time for me to see Gemma to get my nails sorted and then I'm off to the gym. Who said having time off makes you lazy?

Covergirl BFF!

Of my lovely BFF, Emma, is proper covergirl this month, so cool! Well done babes! X

Runkeeper

Started using the app Runkeeper for my walks with Arnie. I wanna see how much it all adds up to in a week, time and km. I must say that I think it's a wicked app, a must have even. He's less impressed - knackered.co.uk!

Yes, they are as tasty as they look!
PS. I've had more than the two in the picture - don't tell anyone, schhhh!

The Sunny Side

It's only been on Swedish TV for like two years, so I thought that it was time to join the revolution of the comedy show Solsidan aka "The Sunny Side" and I absolutely love it! Bring on series 2 and 3!

Baking!

I'm making these today - kanelbullar!!! I have been looking forward to baking something for the past few weeks, so cinnamon buns it is! Wish me luck - I'm going to need it!

Day off???

After my super efficient day yesterday I feel like doing the opposite today #ijustwanttolayinbed. Arnie just came over to my side of the bed, gave me that look which means "get up you lazy sod and take me out" so I'm now dragging myself out. Viewing another house at 10, so maybe I'll be able to squeeze in a mini-clean when I come back from the walk. Also still need to do a food shop and sweat some at the gym today - notlazy.com

Swedish efficiency

So after a quick train journey into London, I spent less than 5 min inside the Swedish embassy before I walked out with my new passport - which by the way is super cool! Then I made a quick stop at ScandiKitchen to stock up before Easter. Walked away with two packed bags! Now I'm on my way home. All of this and it's not even lunchtime yet.

Blog free weekend!

Back from a weekend of blog-silence, I feel like I've got lots to catch up on. I've had a lovely start to my holiday and that is how I want it to remain. Today I'm off to the motherland, well somewhat anyway, I'm on my way to the Swedish embassy to collect my new passport - I'm finally Mrs D! Afterwards I'm going to pay a visit to the Scandinavian kitchen to stock up on some Swedish goodies. I'll keep you posted!
