Photosession

I caught Arnie sun bathing in the garden and decided I'd turn it into a photosession. With some treats in my left hand and the right hand holding the camera, it's not difficult to get him to look in all sorts of directions!

Cruzin

This weekend has been filled with lots of trips to the park with Arnie. He's still the biggest one there, until we met two Great Danes yesterday. It's so lovely to let him off and see him enjoy playing with other dogs his size and to soak up the little sunshine we've got this weekend.

15 months, but still my lap dog!

Gym time!

Gone are the days of PT training, I am now a member of the fitness club David Lloyd!!! Already book up to Body pump classes and I'm going to maximise this week to kickstart my system. We did exercise during the honeymoon, but now I'm ready to step it up a knot - ho ha!!!

I'm so happy with my wedding band, it's a perfect match!

To do lists

Lists. I know that some people hate them, but I've learnt from my mum, that lists are brilliant.

At work I live by them, literally. With them I get tons done which allows me to skip out (again literally) of work bang on 15:10 most days.

Before the wedding I lived by my to do list (which was on my phone. Nearly a week before the wedding I planned what I was going to do each day leading up to the Saturday and that resulted in so much less stress and hassle. It also meant I wasn't dealing with lots of little details last minute, never a good thing.

Exactly 15:00 on the Friday afternoon both me and Frazer stopped doing anything related to wedding planning and I think we've got the list to thank for that.

Now that I've only got a week and a half left of my holiday and I feel like I've rested enough, I'm ready to put it to use again. I'll let you know how I get on.

I don't like to read...

...At least that's what I always thought.

All throughout school and uni, the thought of picking up yet another book, never appealed to me. My patience always ran away from me and I never seemed to be finishing a single book. Working as a teacher, when you have to constantly read and mark student papers, has not really helped me in my struggle to "get into reading books".

With that said, things are slightly different nowadays. It's not like I've turned into a massive bookworm or anything, but I actually find that I all of a sudden have a lot more time for reading books. Not only time, but I actually look forward to starting a new book.

To not loose my Swedish lingo (never had a lot of it anyway) I try to alter between books in Swedish and English.

Going on holiday is obviously a primetime to read. With so much time on my hands I finished two 500-pages books during the honeymoon. The first one The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler made me so scared I had to pause several times to take wee breaks whereas the second one made me chuckle and cry my eyes out - One Day by David Nicholls.

I recommend both them.

Our Paradise

Frazer and I did the wise decision to go to the Maldives for our honeymoon. 14 nights in a 5* hotel (Vivanta by Taj) with less than 60 guests average during our stay. Really secluded and chilled. A spacious and luxury water villa with private sun deck and a ladder down to the lagoon (with a 1000 year old reef).

Paradise.

And that's without even mentioning the food, which was on a completely different level.

No screaming kids, or adults for that matter. Just bliss!

Love is in the details

When it comes to planning a wedding there are about 5,000,000 different things you can do to personalise your day. That's why I felt it was really important to choose the things that mattered to us (well, let's be honest here, mattered to me). Some people decide to ignore the little things when planning their day, but I believe that love is in the details so here is our love:

Seating plan
Here was our seating plan for the evening. Rather than "the usual guest names" we went for pictures of every guest (thank God for Facebook) and it was a real conversation starter. People kept coming up to me all evening commenting on the idea and how brilliant it was.

The Hall
Since we were in an old building I did not want to "pimp it out" by adding lots of pinks/purples or sparkling fake diamonds. Most of the decor was in white and here and there, there were touches of blue, red and green. There were no butterflies or glitter spread around any of the tables, because I simply don't like it. Instead we used many white block candles and lots of flowers.

The Flowers
Plenty of small and large vases with flowers filled the venue. Originally I really wanted to use anemones in the bouquets, but since they're spring flowers we went for roses, hypericum, sweet peas and lizzies etc instead. I had one instruction to my lovely mother-in-law (who did all of the arrangements): make it look natural! I really don't like it when flower arrangements look too tidy or put together. I love the wildness of flowers and I really felt Jacqui achieved that look for all of our arrangements.

Keeping it simple
A crisp white linen napkin, a creative menu, place card tied around the glass and a chocolate favour with our personalised sticker. It was simple and clearly stood for who we are as people.

Saying thank you
I made a classic royal mail sign for our post box, since we didn't ask for gifts, we needed somewhere for the cards to go. Also a sincere 'thank you' message along with our guest book and Polaroid camera (so people could take a picture of themselves to place next to their greeting). This is something I recommend anyone to do, who's hosting any kind of party. It turns into a cool keepsake and memory for us - the guest book and pictures are brilliant!

Cake Toppers
I saw them on Etsy and loved them, but it was way too late to order them. In a desperate plea I once again turned to my MIL and she made us these two love birds. I'm going to keep these guys on a shelf as a memory of an amazing cake and an even more amazing day!

Wedding bliss

Heeeeellloooo everyone!!!! I'm back!!!!

I am a married lady. A very happy married lady if I may add.

Our wedding in Sweden was everything we had hoped for and more. The weather on the day and the days leading up to the wedding was divine. 25 degrees, sunny and very much like we had hoped.

Since we had chosen to decorate the venue ourselves as well as source everything from napkins to extra glasses to chair covers, there was A LOT more to organise then your usual hotel package wedding.

Getting a hold of a maitre d last minute and picking up flowers from the wholesalers is not what you'd normally do, days before your wedding but heyho, ours was a bit different. With our wedding mafia, consisting of two sets parents, my sister and bridesmaid Melanie we did pull all the little strings together in less than 48h!

Seeing it all come together after months of planning, preparing menus, cocktail sticks with flags, flower arrangements and favours made me feel so pleased! It all looked the way I'd hoped and I felt so honoured that we have such amazing people in our lives that went out of their way to help us.

More wedding pictures will follow soonish as I'm still waiting on the professional pics. Until then I'll try to show you some glimpses from our day, but in a whole another post though.

I've got another 10 days of relaxation left, before I go back to work. I'm really going to make use of my fully charged batteries and I'm looking forward to getting lots done.

I've had my rest, I'm ready to get going! Hoo haa!!!!
