All throughout school and uni, the thought of picking up yet another book, never appealed to me. My patience always ran away from me and I never seemed to be finishing a single book. Working as a teacher, when you have to constantly read and mark student papers, has not really helped me in my struggle to "get into reading books".
With that said, things are slightly different nowadays. It's not like I've turned into a massive bookworm or anything, but I actually find that I all of a sudden have a lot more time for reading books. Not only time, but I actually look forward to starting a new book.
To not loose my Swedish lingo (never had a lot of it anyway) I try to alter between books in Swedish and English.
Going on holiday is obviously a primetime to read. With so much time on my hands I finished two 500-pages books during the honeymoon. The first one The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler made me so scared I had to pause several times to take wee breaks whereas the second one made me chuckle and cry my eyes out - One Day by David Nicholls.
I recommend both them.
